We would like to welcome your child to Kindergarten at Vedder Elementary. We are excited to partner in your child’s journey at school.

The first week of Kindergarten will look a little bit different than a regular school day. We have a gradual entry plan to ensure a smooth transition to full-day Kindergarten and your student’s success.

All Kindergarten students and their parent(s) are invited to attend an interview with their Kindergarten teacher. The interview is a chance to get to know your child’s  teacher, as well as an opportunity for our teachers to gain knowledge about your child’s learning strengths and needs.

Students will attend an AM or PM mini-session starting Monday, Sept 14th until Sept 18th. All students will start attending full day of Kindergarten on Monday, Sept 21st 8:05 - 2:10.

In Kindergarten we have found a few things to be helpful for your child’s transition to elementary school and we are requesting that you bring the following items to the interview session:

• Inside shoes (suitable for the gym and no laces)
• An extra set of clothing (accidents happen even during messy art projects!)

• We have purchased school supplies for our Kindergarten students as we use communal supplies in Kindergarten. The cost for each Kindergarten student is $45.00 that can be paid online @ https://www.studentquickpay.com/sd33 /cash or cheque (made out to Vedder Elementary). Payments online will be starting on Sept 8th.
